Corporate policy

Besides its core activities of dismantling and disposing of nuclear facilities, it is the objective of Kerntechnische Entsorgung Karlsruhe (KTE) to further improve its high standards of safety and environmental protection, occupational health and safety, quality and energy efficiency. To reinforce this message to its staff, to those third parties who are engaged in the company, and to all interested parties, the following fundamental values are enshrined in KTE corporate policy:

  • Highest priority is accorded to the safety of people and equipment, and to the protection of the environment.
  • Through technical and organizational processes, and by making the necessary protective equipment available, those responsible at the company ensure the greatest possible occupational health and safety for all employees and take preventive steps to identify any potential hazards in order to eliminate them.
  • The applicable laws, regulations, standards and other binding obligations are met by the company.
    KTE keeps to its set deadlines and agreed budgets so as to achieve its objectives in a resource-efficient manner.
  • Through its corporate policy and corporate objectives, KTE has defined and implements concrete measures.
  • The appropriateness and effectiveness of KTE’s integrated management system are continuously checked and assessed and improved as necessary.
  • Great importance is attached throughout KTE to comprehensive documentation. Consequently, the company is constantly working to achieve proper documentation. This is to ensure that future employees will have access to structured information at all times.
  • KTE saves resources by sensitizing its employees to appropriate behaviour and implementing more efficient processes.
  • KTE maintains a dialogue with its customers and interested third parties to ensure that it can take their interests into account.
  • KTE corporate policy serves as a guideline upon which all employees should base their work. These basic principles have been communicated to all employees via the company’s intranet and in training seminars. Everyone involved – from top management to each and every employee – is responsible for implementing this policy, and has a duty to contribute to the achievement of its objectives. The resources required to do this are made available.
