State collection points for radioactive waste are interim storage facilities for (low-level) radioactive waste that are maintained by Germany’s federal states. For radioactive waste from medicine, industry and research, the federal states are required by law to establish collection points for the interim storage of waste occurring within their territory.
The state collection point of the state of Baden-Württemberg is to be found at KTE. The company’s central disposal facilities assume the duties and responsibilities as a state collection point for the state. This includes taking receipt of radioactive waste and its conditioning, interim storage and later transport to the final repository.
